These are the rules for the Rutherford Land Clearing LLC ("RLC", "we") referral program. Signing up at rutherfordlandclearing.com/refer or /agents, or using a referral link we issue you, means you agree to them. They're written to be read, not to trap anyone; if something's unclear, text John at (615) 439-5260.
Anyone 18 or older. Individuals, businesses, real estate agents, contractors, past customers, neighbors. You don't need a license or a company. We approve new partners by hand and may decline or remove anyone for any lawful reason, including the conduct rules below. RLC employees, subcontractors, and their households aren't eligible.
A referral fee is earned when all of the following are true: (a) a customer opened your personal link (rutherfordlandclearing.com/r/yourcode) or was attributed to you by us in writing, (b) they requested an estimate within 90 days of first opening your link, (c) we completed a land clearing job for them, and (d) they paid us in full. Estimates, walk-throughs, or quotes that don't turn into a completed, paid job earn nothing.
Attribution is first-touch: whichever partner's link the customer opened first gets the credit. If a customer you sent calls or texts us instead of using your link, tell us their name and address the same day and we'll attach them to you if no other partner already has them. Attribution decisions made in good faith by RLC are final.
The standard fee is 10% of the final invoiced amount of the referred job, including add-on work we perform on the same job (gravel driveway, grading, haul-off). It excludes sales tax, permit fees, third-party materials billed at cost, and any amount we refund or write off. Your rate is shown on your dashboard; we may set a different rate for a specific partner in writing, and may change the standard rate for future referrals with 30 days' notice on this page. Fees already earned aren't changed.
Real estate agents may instead choose a customer credit: the same amount is taken off the customer's invoice as a line item in the agent's name, and no cash fee is paid. The choice is per partner and can be changed on the dashboard before the job completes.
The fee applies to the first job for that customer at that property. If the same customer books additional clearing within 12 months of the first completed job, you earn the fee on that too. Work more than 12 months later, or at a different property they own, is not covered unless they come back through your link.
Fees are paid within 30 days after the customer pays us in full, by the method you chose on your dashboard: Venmo or a paper check (agents may direct the check to their brokerage). We can't send a fee until you've told us where to send it. Fees under $25 may be held and combined with your next one. You'll get a text when each payout goes out.
Taxes. Referral fees are income to you. Once fees paid to you in a calendar year reach $2,000 we need a completed IRS Form W-9 before further payouts, and you'll receive a Form 1099-NEC in January. (That is the federal threshold in effect for 2026; if the IRS changes it, we follow the IRS.) Nothing here is tax advice.
Breaking these rules forfeits unpaid fees and ends your participation.
Your dashboard link is private; anyone with it can see the first names, addresses, and status of the customers you referred and can change your payout details, so don't share it. Your /r/ link is meant to be shared. We may deactivate a link that hasn't been used in 24 months. We text you program updates about your referrals at the number you gave us; reply STOP to opt out of texts, though you'll then need to check your dashboard yourself for payout information.
We share only what you need to see that your referral is moving: name, address, status, and the fee. We don't share their phone number, email, quote details, or photos, and you agree not to contact a referred customer about the job on our behalf.
Referral fees from RLC are paid for introducing a land clearing customer, not for anything connected with a real estate settlement, and RLC is not a settlement service provider. Whether your brokerage can accept a fee, whether it must run through the brokerage, and any disclosure you owe your client are between you, your broker, and your state licensing rules; the customer-credit option exists so there's always a path that works. It's your responsibility to comply.
We can change these rules or end the program at any time by updating this page; changes apply to referrals made after the change. Fees already earned under the old rules will be paid. Either of us can end your participation at any time; you'll still be paid fees earned before that.
This program is offered by Rutherford Land Clearing LLC, Lascassas, Tennessee, and is governed by Tennessee law. Being a partner doesn't make you our employee, agent, or contractor, and you can't bind us to anything. Our total liability to you under this program is limited to unpaid fees actually earned. Nothing in this program is a franchise, a security, or an offer of employment.
