Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Rutherford Land Clearing ("we," "us") collects when you use rutherfordlandclearing.com or request an estimate, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are a small, locally owned land clearing and forestry mulching company serving Rutherford County, Tennessee.
What we collect
When you request an estimate we collect what you give us: your name, mobile number, email address if you provide one, the property address or map area you mark, the acreage, your answers about vegetation, access and terrain, and any photos you upload. We also record the date and time of the request and a technical identifier (IP address and browser type) used only for security and abuse prevention.
When you mark a property on the map we may look up the public county parcel record for that location (parcel number, recorded acreage, zoning) from the Rutherford County GIS service so that your estimate is accurate. That is public information; we store it with your estimate and do not show it to anyone else.
Photos you upload are sent to an automated image analysis service (Anthropic's Claude API) so we can classify vegetation density and access. The photos are used only to produce your estimate. That provider does not use them to train its models and does not retain them beyond processing.
How we use it
- To calculate and send you an estimate, schedule a free on-site walk-through, and perform the work you hire us for.
- To send you text messages about your estimate and job (see SMS section below).
- To give you a private job page where you can see your schedule and progress photos.
- To keep basic business records and to prevent misuse of the estimate tool.
We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising and we do not add you to any list other than the one-to-one follow-up described below.
Text messages (SMS)
If you enter your mobile number when requesting an estimate and check the consent box, you agree to receive text messages from Rutherford Land Clearing about your estimate and job. These include your price range, a short series of follow-ups about scheduling a walk-through, appointment confirmations and reminders, progress updates while we are on site, a completion notice, and a request for a review. Message frequency varies; a typical estimate results in fewer than ten messages in total. Message and data rates may apply.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help, or call or text us at (615) 439-5260. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of purchasing any service; you can always call us instead.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your mobile number and consent are used only to communicate with you about your own estimate and job.
Who else sees your information
We use a small number of service providers to run the site and send messages: our web host (NameHero), our text messaging provider (Twilio), the image analysis provider named above, and mapping providers (Esri imagery, OpenStreetMap address lookup, and Rutherford County GIS). Each receives only what it needs to perform its function, and none of them may use your information for their own marketing. We will disclose information if required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep estimate and job records, including photos, for as long as needed to serve you and for our business and tax records, generally up to seven years. You can ask us to delete your information at any time by texting or calling (615) 439-5260 or emailing hello@rutherfordlandclearing.com, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Your information is stored on our web host and is accessible only to Rutherford Land Clearing staff who need it to do the work. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us.
Children
Our services are for property owners and adults acting on their behalf. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
